The Island Stories youth work is facilitated by Bridey Borda, BA Hons Youth and Community Student at Marjons, photographer and resident of Barne Barton. Bridey was awarded a study bursary by The Island Stories and has been working with Barne Barton’s Young Ambassadors to deliver creative sessions around the themes of history and experiences of living in Barton Barton.
The Young Ambassadors produced an exhibition ‘The Scrapbooks of Barne Barton’ an archive of stories and images about experiences of living and growing up on the estate. The work was exhibited at Plymouth History Festival 2018 and at the Social Making Symposium at Devonport Guildhall in June 2018.
